The first pre-school in Singapore’s National Garden sets a new direction in early childhood education. Inspired by the school’s location the Eton House’s Garden school focuses on nature, the outdoors, sustainability and community. If your family is looking for an International Pre-School in Singapore, stay tuned for the details about Eton House Gardens By the Bay that opens in March 2023
In March 2023 the successful EtonHouse International Education Group will launch the group’s first infant care and preschool at Gardens by the Bay. Located at the Bayfront Pavilion in the lush and iconic surroundings of Gardens by the Bay, the preschool will offer education designed around the following 3 pillars:
1. Nature Education
The school’s curriculum is programmed to allow the children to spend 50% of their time outdoors in the renowned spaces of the Gardens by the Bay.
“A national garden and premier horticultural attraction for local and international visitors, Gardens by the Bay is a showpiece of horticulture and garden artistry that presents the plant kingdom in a whole new way, entertaining while educating visitors with plants seldom seen in this part of the world, ranging from species in cool, temperate climates to tropical forests and habitats.”

2. Sustainability
Sustainable living is the new black and as modern day parents, we know the importance of instilling change for the future. The school will boast a ReALdo Lab, upcycling, aquaponics farming and a bioactive terrarium. Our education consultants believe that “practicing sustainability empowers children to construct knowledge, explore values and develop an appreciation of the environment and its relationship to their worlds.”
Sue Elliott, Senior Lecturer from the University of New England, NSW, says ‘early childhood education for sustainability is a transformative and empowering process actively engaged in by children, families and educators who share an ecocentric worldview’ (Elliott, 2014, p.15).

3. Community
As parents of young children, we know the value of community as “it takes a village to raise a child”. The new EtonHouse Pre-School extends its community to the Garden. The Pre-school will allow for regular engagement with the Garden’s By the Bay horticulturalists and general community. The school will act as a vibrant hub for outdoor learning and sustainability for the community.
The creation of a local community in early childhood becomes the supportive, positive, uplifting foundation of a child’s life. It helps them to learn about themselves. It helps them learn how to tackle challenges, build knowledge, and thrive.
